A year later (Kerry Cole)

Most that know me very well know what happened last December. A quick trip to the grocery store ended in tragedy for my sisters family. Kerry and his mother Jane were taken too soon. I watched my sisters world come crushing down. She had to endure what most of us fear everyday, losing a loved one. Not only Kerry but Jane too! The kids lost their dad and a grandparent at the same time. The thought of that seems unreal. The heart breaking news felt like a really bad nightmare that you can't wake up from.

Most people don't know the whole story. That night Kerry had asked my sister to go too. She convinced him to take his mom and spend time with her. Their daughter Kara also wanted to go also. Kerry told her no that she needed to stay and he'd be back shortly. He told the kids goodbye, kissed my sister and told he loved her then left. She had no idea that would be the last time he would do that. I believe in a higher power that was looking over Kristi. If she had gone with him she would be no longer with us. If he had allowed Kara to go, she'd be gone too.

This year has been a rebuilding year for my sister and her family. They will never truly get over losing Kerry and Jane but life will continue to get better. I've watched them all get stronger and lean on each other and us! They are strong and GOD only puts on us what we can handle and I truly believe that! Hug your family, tell them you love them. You never know when it may be the last time you do!

Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
