Thankfulness

Thanksgiving is upon us once again and time to be thankful!  That's what is drilled into our heads every year. I myself am guilty of this. Last Sunday Bro Chris Roberts sermon was about giving thanks. Not just now but everyday! We all seem to take advantage of what we have and the people in our lives. As he preached I felt GOD and his presence in the room. The sermon continued and I felt him closer and closer. Before Bro Chris even had the chance to do the alter call. I rose to my feet and sprinted to the alter. There I prayed and thanked GOD for all things in my life! Good and Bad!

Sometimes we get wrapped up in life and forget all that we have. If you're reading this you need to be thankful for several things. For example: the fact you're not blind or that you can read. Me for instance I am legally blind without contacts. But I am thankful for contacts! Also you woke up this morning, and you're breathing. That in itself is a blessing! Also you are reading this on your phone, computer or device so you are blessed enough to have that. I could go on and on. Blessings can be counted and you wouldn't even think about it.

We all have things in our lives that we could complain about. "I hate my job". Good news, you have a job!  Its stuff like that you need to consider! I remember in a sermon my dad preached years ago he said this.  "We tend get upset with our kids when they get up in church service and go the bathroom. Instead of getting upset we should be thankful that child can walk." I know, I know that's hard to do. I will be thankful but still be upset with the fact they got up and couldn't wait until the end of service.

So the next time you think about what you have or don't have... just be thankful. Maybe take the time to give thanks for everything! I am thankful that Jesus Christ died for me and my sins! I am thankful for my wife and kids! I am thankful for my family and friends! I am thankful for my job and the fact that I work with great people! I am thankful that Velvet and I have depending vehicles and a great house to live in! I am thankful for a list that could go on forever!  I am also thankful for you as you read this!  Love your family  and friends. They are lucky to have you in their life! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Psalms 100:4

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
